Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant has a long road ahead of him as he rehabs from a ruptured Achilles tendon, but at least he gets to watch a lot of football throughout the process.

Durant praised Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles for his first touchdown throw with his new team, a 35-yard strike to receiver D.J. Chark:

Unfortunately, Foles has already found himself in a similar situation as Durant: sidelined with an injury. The 2017 Super Bowl MVP was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday afternoon's contest against the Kansas City Chiefs following a left shoulder injury suffered on the TD play:

Durant's love for football is well-documented, especially when it comes to his hometown Washington Redskins. The former NBA MVP even got at teammate Stephen Curry after the Redskins defeated Curry's beloved Panthers in October of last year:

The Washington, D.C. native might have to endure a rough fall as the Redskins look to solve their own puzzle at the quarterback position. However, Washington has actually jumped out to a 17-0 lead against the Philadelphia Eagles at the time of this writing.

Durant will not play during the 2019-20 season due to the Achilles injury, but his free-agency process still controlled a good deal of the narrative this summer, especially with speculation that he might join the New York Knicks.

Instead, Durant elected to team up with Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn, and the Nets figure to be serious contenders for an NBA title once Durant returns.
