In a interview with J.R. Moehringer of the Wall Street Journal, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant reveals Kyrie Irving is his “best friend in the league.”

Both Durant and Irving signed four-year deals with the Nets this summer in free agency. Brooklyn also signed center DeAndre Jordan, who is close with KD and Irving. The three All-Stars were on the Olympic team which won gold in Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

He's always felt big love as a visiting player at Barclays Center, he says, and he wondered what it might be like if he were on the home team. Plus, the Nets offered the opportunity to join his “best friend in the league,” Kyrie Irving.

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving took less than the max from the Nets so the franchise could sign DeAndre Jordan. Even though Durant is widely expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season recovering from his Achilles tear, Brooklyn should still be a tough team to deal with.

The Nets will be title contenders once Durant step onto the court. A team with KD, Irving, Jordan, Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen and Joe Harris leading the charge figures to be a juggernaut on offense.
