When Kevin Durant retires, he may not be mostly known for his time with the Brooklyn Nets. He will likely be remembered for his prime years with the Oklahoma City Thunder or championship years with the Golden State Warriors. still, Durant will make his mark in his time with Brooklyn.

In a 12-point win over the Detroit Pistons, Durant recorded a stat line that had never been done before by a Nets player: 51 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. He shot 16-31 from the field and 5-10 from deep while adding two blocks and a steal.

Durant's point total is a season-high for any player this season. His insane ability to take over games at age 33 (and after tearing his Achilles tendon) is legendary. He came into tonight averaging a league-leading 28.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.

The Nets are the top seed in the Eastern Conference despite the complete absence of Kyrie Irving and the struggles of James Harden earlier in the season. Durant's unstoppable play style and the Nets' burgeoning defense have allowed Brooklyn to remain an elite team amidst the exodus of their All-Star point guard.

Whether he ends his stint with Brooklyn as a champion remains to be seen. Regardless, he will have left his mark on the franchise in numerous ways.
