The Brooklyn Nets logged their second consecutive win to open the season, as they made easy work of the Boston Celtics to come away with an impressive 123-95 win. After the victory, Kyrie Irving was graceful enough to meet the press and took it as an opportunity to talk up Brooklyn's playoff hopes this season.

Irving tried to play down his team's Christmas Day victory, but he also came out with a bold declaration that the Nets already have their sights set on the playoffs this early.

“We've got 70 more games to go,” Kyrie Irving said, via Corey Hersch of SNY. “And it's a free for all after that. We've got utilize this time to see different looks from different teams and see some things that will challenge is in the playoffs. We're getting a feel for how the Eastern Conference is going to stack up.”

To be fair to Kyrie, everybody expects Brooklyn to make it to the playoffs this term, and they are actually one of the favorites to go all the way this 2020-21. With that said, Irving is just being straightforward with his assessment here.

Irving went on to talk about the type of mentality he now has in terms of taking things one day at a time:

“In the past, I've had such a rushing mentality to get through the regular season and into the playoffs, but right now I'm just grounded and balanced and not taking any day for granted,” the Nets star added.

Irving was tremendous against the Celtics, finishing with a game-high 37 points on 13-of-21 shooting to go along with six rebounds, eight assists, a steal, and just one turnover in 33 minutes of action.
