Prior to Kyrie Irving's return from injury, the Brooklyn Nets had lost seven of their last eight games and were quickly sliding down the Eastern Conference standings. Since then, the Nets are 1-1 and currently sit in the eighth seed with an 18-21 record.

However, despite their recent struggles, things certainly aren't going to get any easier for Brooklyn. While the team plays three of their four next four games at home, having to face off against the Philadelphia 76ers twice and both conference leaders in the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks will be no easy task.

Despite the four-game gauntlet facing the team, first-year Net and star point guard Kyrie Irving is excited about the stretch.

“I love it. As a competitor, you want to have these tests… It’s really about making your mark and setting the standards you want heading into All-Star break. I look that far ahead as games we’ve got to get,” Irving said.

Irving, who has missed all but 13 games this season with a shoulder injury, was the team's big offseason acquisition along well All-NBA small forward Kevin Durant who is also injured.

In his first game back from injury, the 6-foot-2 point guard absolutely dominated the outmatched Atlanta Hawks. Irving shot 10 for 11 from the field on his way to 21 points, four rebounds and three assists in just 20 minutes.

In his second game back, Irving was just as effective scoring 32 points, dishing 11 assists and grabbing five rebounds in an 11-point loss to the Utah Jazz
