After news broke that James Harden will be headed to the Brooklyn Nets, a former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate of Kyrie Irving sent out a tweet hinting that he may be eyeing a possible reunion.
Via Twitter, Iman Shumpert, who's currently a free agent, sent out a two-word tweet after the Harden blockbuster deal was announced. While it could mean everything or nothing at all, most fans are in agreement that Shumpert is sending signals to Irving and the Nets that he's ready if ever they need him.

Shumpert was actually part of the Nets last season. They acquired him in November 2019 but waived him a month later. He played 13 games and averaged 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds across 18.5 minutes.
Like what most analysts and fans pointed out, the Nets' defense has gotten a lot weaker with the trade. After all, they gave up Jarrett Allen who had been showing signs of a breakout year prior to the trade announcement.
And Shumpert, for most of his NBA career, has built a reputation as a solid defender. Apart from which, he has some significant playoff experience under his belt, something that the Nets will need to fortify their title hopes. And of course, no one can discount his connection with Irving whom he won a title with back in 2016.
Whether the Nets heed Shumpert's hint is a matter of wait-and-see. They still have to solve the Irving fiasco first before they look forward. But adding a veteran who knows the ways of the regular season and the playoffs surely won't hurt.
