Kyrie Irving had another big game for the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, but it was not enough to prevent his squad from suffering 122-111 defeat at the hands of the Detroit Pistons.

Irving was playing through a finger injury against Detroit, which may have had an adverse effect on his shooting. After the game, the 28-year-old had a brief, yet blunt reaction to his latest injury (h/t Brian Lewis of the New York Post):

Irving scored a team-high 27 points on Tuesday, but he did go just 12-of-28 from the field, including 2-of-9 from downtown. Kyrie also managed two rebounds, seven assists, and a couple of steals in his 35 minutes of play.

James Harden, on the other hand, logged 24 points, six boards, twelve dimes, two steals, a career-best five blocks in another all-around performance for his new team. He did commit seven costly turnovers, though, which is a sour note to his otherwise commendable evening.

Kevin Durant had to sit this one out as the former MVP continues to navigate the league's health and safety protocols.

The Nets had no answer to Jerami Grant, who had another fine outing for Detroit. Grant has been nothing short of outstanding since signing with the Pistons as a free agent during the offseason, and Tuesday's 32-point outburst against the Nets served as another reminder that he should be in consideration for this year's Most Improved Player award.

As for Irving, it remains to be seen if he will be forced to miss time with this injury. The Nets are in action again on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers in the second night of a back-to-back set, so it would not be surprising if Kyrie sits that one out.
