It was a tough game for Brooklyn Nets big man LaMarcus Aldridge against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night, and he expressed his frustrations after failing to perform on the defensive end in a 126-101 loss.

Simply put, Aldridge was appalled by his defense:

“I have to watch film,” Aldridge said, per Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News. “I can't get past how bad I was defensively.”

On the floor, Aldridge was bullied by his matchup in Lakers newcomer Andre Drummond, who notched 20 points and 11 rebounds in their first encounter since switching teams. Markieff Morris also had his way around the paint by tallying 14 points and six rebounds for the Lakers. Meanwhile, another frontcourt presence in Montrezl Harrell provided a lift as well as he registered 10 points and eight rebounds.

To add to his woes, Aldridge was also limited on the offensive end as he only had 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists for the Nets in their ugly defeat. His fellow big man in Blake Griffin also struggled as he ended up with just two points and two assists.

With their dismal performance, the Nets didn't stand a chance against the shorthanded Lakers, who showed out despite the absences of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Kyle Kuzma. With the loss, Brooklyn's record dropped back to 36-17 and the second spot in the Eastern Conference.

After a disappointing performance on both ends of the floor, LaMarcus Aldridge and the rest of the Nets will certainly have to bounce back and figure out how to improve things on the defensive end of the floor. They very well could face the Lakers in the NBA Finals, but those games would feature LeBron and AD.
