LaMarcus Aldridge finally donned the Brooklyn Nets' electric blue threads on Thursday as the 35-year-old finally made his much-awaited Barclays Center debut. The seven-time All-Star is the newest superstar addition to head coach Steve Nash's squad in Brooklyn and Aldridge was obviously excited to show everyone in the Eastern Conference what he's capable of.

“I'm just having fun playing my game and being on the floor,” Aldridge said after the Nets' 111-89 win over the Charlotte Hornets (via NBA on TNT). “I'm just looking forward to being me.”

Aldridge started for his very first game for the Nets and immediately logged in 30 minutes as Brooklyn's number five man. He tallied 11 points, nine boards, six assists, and a block.

The Dallas native has gone a long way since his days in the Portland Trail Blazers. And, after five and a half seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, Aldridge is off to his newest mission which is to add depth and more length to this already deadly Brooklyn Nets unit. With LMA in town, the Nets have an option to put him alongside Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Blake Griffin. Together, that's an insane total of 40 All-Star appearances for this new Brooklyn 5.

The addition of the five-time All-NBA team member instantly makes the Nets clear favorites to win the East and go straight to the NBA Finals – if they weren't already before the season even began. If the team can stay healthy and maybe add a few more key pieces in their reserves, don't be surprised if Aldridge books his first-ever trip to the NBA Finals.
