Gilbert Arenas is a huge Michael Jordan fan, but he is convinced Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has the advantage over the Chicago Bulls legend when it comes to the GOAT scorer debate.

In his recent appearance on fubo Sports, Arenas argued why he believes KD is the greatest scorer of all time, putting him above MJ. As the former NBA All-Star said, the way Durant scores is truly “effortless” and he's virtually unstoppable with the physical tools he has.

“As a basketball player, as a basketball fan who understands the game, the way Kevin Durant scores is really effortless. He can’t actually be stopped, controlled or challenged because of his height, his shooting. So, he is probably the easiest bucket getter in NBA history,” Arenas explained.

Agent Zero then went on to put more substance to his argument, saying that Michael Jordan's scoring was only boosted by the fact that he's the primary scorer for the Bulls since his second option in Scottie Pippen was not really a natural-born scorer. This is the reason why he is among the Top 5 players with the most points in NBA history.

In comparison, Kevin Durant has played with the likes of Russell Westbrook and Stephen Curry–both explosive scorers who can get hot any time and put up 30 or more points. For Arenas, looking at the stats alone, the two are not far apart even though KD had to sacrifice because of the offensive players around him.

“It is Kevin Durant, in my opinion,” Arenas concluded on the GOAT scorer debate. “And I'm a Jordan fanatic.”

Gilbert Arenas certainly makes a great point. After all, even though Durant is outside the Top 25 in scoring, he has already established himself as the most unstoppable offensive players today.

Of course, there will always be those who would argue otherwise. But then again, it's really hard to compare players who dominated the NBA in two different eras of basketball.
