Brooklyn Nets third-year small forward Caris LeVert suffered a gruesome leg injury Monday night on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves and had to be carted off on a stretcher.

It was a dreadful scene in Minnesota, as players on both teams couldn't believe what they were seeing. Each team circled around each other and prayed for LeVert, who received tons of support from his NBA peers on Twitter.

Injuries suck, but what makes this injury even worse is that Caris LeVert is only 24 years old. This is just a heartbreaking moment for a kid who was really having a good start to the season.

In 13 games this year, Caris LeVert was averaging 19.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 72.1 percent from the free-throw line.

One would speculate that LeVert is going to miss the rest of the season. He was transported to a local hospital immediately after the injury occurred. The entire NBA family is praying for Caris LeVert. Hopefully, he can have a speedy recovery and come back even better next season.

The Nets were unable to rebound from the injury and wound up losing to the Timberwolves. They lost by a final score of 120-113.
