Nets PG D’Angelo Russell is first in franchise history with back-to-back games of 7+ threes

D'Angelo Russell

D’Angelo Russell and the Brooklyn Nets are suddenly the most intriguing team in the NBA Eastern Conference.

Projected by a lot of people as one of the teams that won’t make the playoffs, the Nets have turned their doubters to believers after they slowly climbed up the conference standings behind D’Angelo Russell, who’s playing the best season of his three-year career.

With the Nets’ 124-93 beatdown of the Sacramento Kings earlier, they have now won four straight games, pushing them to a sixth seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Russell had 31 points, eight assists, and four rebounds while shooting 12-for-25 from the field and 7-for-14 from beyond the arc.

He has now scored at least 30 points and made at least seven 3-pointers in back-to-back games, putting himself in a position to notch two achievements as a player for the Nets franchise.

Russell continues to make a late push to be part of the Eastern Conference All-Stars, and while it’s unlikely he’ll make it, he’s definitely put the league on notice.

He’s averaging 19.2 points, 6.4 assists, and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 43% from the field this season.

Since being traded by the Los Angeles Lakers, Russell has helped the Nets turn their fortunes around. A few years ago, Brooklyn was seen as nothing but a lottery team. But now the team is primed to make the postseason, and it seems that with they’re bound to accomplish more in the near future.
