Brooklyn Nets star guard Kyrie Irving, who has missed the last several games due to “personal reasons,” was spotted in a virtual event prior to his team's game with the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.

Per Malika Andrews of ESPN, Irving was present in a virtual event for Manhattan District Attorney candidate Tahani Aboushi at 7 pm on Tuesday. Irving subsequently missed the Nets' game against the Denver Nuggets.

Kyrie Irving's latest absence marked the fourth consecutive game that he has missed due to “personal reasons.” Reports reveal that he's expected to miss two more games: Wednesday against the New York Knicks and Saturday against the Orlando Magic.

Irving's appearance adds another mystery regarding the real reason for his absence. Recently, a video of Irving partying with his family and friends made rounds over the Internet. The NBA and the Nets were made known of the aforementioned video and quickly started an investigation as it could be a breach of the league's protocols.

“We are aware of a video on social media featuring Kyrie Irving at a family gathering,” Nets general manager Sean Marks said in a statement on  Tuesday. “We are reviewing the circumstances with both Kyrie and the NBA in order to determine compliance with health and safety protocols.”

Marks added that Irving himself will address his absence over the last several games. Head coach Steve Nash, meanwhile, declined to further comment on Marks' statement. Star forward Kevin Durant expressed his support for Irving on whatever he's going through, but he also declined to elaborate and noted that Irving will do so himself.
