The Brooklyn Nets continue to exceed expectations this season. In fact, they recently earned an impressive 110-96 victory against the Boston Celtics, a team that many people believe is a championship contender.

NBA analyst and former Nets player Richard Jefferson said that with the team's win against Boston, Brooklyn has gained significant amount of expectations after starting the season as nothing but a feel good story.

Heading into the season, nobody was counting on the Nets to even make the playoffs. Now, they are the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Although they aren't out of the woods yet, Richard Jefferson believes that it is up to the team's players to meet the expectations and not let the fans down.

The Nets are half a game behind the Detroit Pistons for the sixth seed and one game above the Miami Heat for the eighth seed in the East. With six games left in their season, a major collapse in the final two weeks could cost the Brooklyn a playoff spot, especially with the ninth-seeded Orlando Magic still trying to sneak into the playoff race.

For a young team like Brooklyn, making the playoffs is something that they can be proud of. However, there's no doubt they can also make some noise and do some damage in the postseason.

The expectations will once again change once they officially make it to the postseason.
