Brooklyn Nets small forward Rodions Kurucs was arrested in Brooklyn for allegedly choking his girlfriend, according to the New York Daily News.

Per the report, Kurucs allegedly attacked his then-girlfriend on June 27 just before 8 p.m. in his apartment in Carroll Gardens. The then-couple reportedly had a verbal argument which went out of control.

Kurucs allegedly screamed, “I am going to kill myself!” He allegedly put his hand around the woman’s throat and choked her, then forced her to march to his bed.

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward allegedly pushed her on the bed, slapped her in the face twice, bit her lip and then picked her up and tossed her on the bed hard enough to hurt her ribs, the sources said.

The Nets haven't released a statement yet on the incident.

Kurucs is entering his second year with the Nets. He played in 63 games last season as a rookie, averaging 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.0 percent from the field, 31.5 percent from beyond the arc and 78.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Born and raised in Latvia, the 21-year-old wing is scheduled to make $1.7 million next season. The Nets selected him with the 40th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
