The Brooklyn Nets are focusing on coming into the season fully healthy, and making sure Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Shabazz Napier are ready to go is a top priority. Kenny Atkinson is holding both players out of Brooklyn's preseason game on Monday against the Toronto Raptors per Michael Scotto of The Athletic. Additionally, Kenneth Faried will play.

Napier is a new addition from the Portland Trail Blazers and he will be a crucial member of the Nets second-unit. Napier can handle the ball or play off-ball as a shooting guard.

Hollis-Jefferson is entering his fourth season in the NBA, all with the Nets. RHJ is listed as a small forward, but he spends a lot of time at the four. He doesn't shoot well from the outside, but he can rebound, play defense, and run the floor which makes up for his size and lack of a jumper.

The Brooklyn Nets enter a pivotal season. It's Kenny Atkinson and Sean Marks' third-year at the helm. From year one to year two, Brooklyn improved their win total by eight. That was the second largest win total improvement in the NBA (Sixers improved by a ridiculous 24 wins).

Brooklyn fans expect another step forward. Another eight-game improvement would put the Nets at 36 wins and although 36-46 doesn't look like a great record, it could be enough to sneak into the weak Eastern Conference. Furthermore, the Nets are planning to sign a big name free agent in 2019 and a season where the team shows improvement would go a long way towards attracting a marquee name.
