The Brooklyn Nets are reportedly interested in bringing on a 16th player in the wake of Wilson Chandler's suspension for a positive PED test. When asked about the possibility of adding Carmelo Anthony to the roster, Nets general manager Sean Marks would not give a direct reply. Instead, Marks says the team will do its due diligence in searching for available players.

Anthony, now 35 years of age, has heard his name tossed about quite a bit this offseason. Several teams were rumored to be interested in his services, but no deals have come to fruition for the 10-time All-Star as of yet.

Anthony played 10 games for the Houston Rockets last season (two starts), racking up averages of 13.4 points on 40.5 percent shooting from the field (32.8 percent from beyond the arc) and 5.4 rebounds in 29.4 minutes per outing. The former Syracuse standout was later traded to the Chicago Bulls, who ultimately decided to waive him on February 1.

The Nets finished the 2018-19 regular season with a 42-40 overall record, which earned the team a No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Unfortunately, though, Brooklyn was defeated by the Philadelphia 76ers in the opening round, 4-1.

Be it with the Nets or another team, it will be interesting to see if Melo gets another shot in the NBA.
