Spencer Dinwiddie is reportedly the lead recruiter of Kyrie Irving to the Brooklyn Nets. However, it's a somewhat surprising move given that Irving is certain to take away Dinwiddie's starting spot.

When asked about recruiting Irving to the Nets, though, Dinwiddie gave a puzzling and rather vague answer. Nonetheless, he also mentioned that everything people read, including the news about him recruiting Irving to Brooklyn, is plausible.

“The thing about the NBA, everything you read is plausible,” Dinwiddie said via Michael Scotto of The Athletic. “And with that being said, obviously, it could’ve happened, it may not have happened.”

Marc Stein of The New York Times earlier reported that Dinwiddie and Irving started communicating when they both took a Harvard business class for athletes back in 2018. Stein said that the job of Dinwiddie was to lead the recruitment of the former NBA champion.

Irving eventually decided to leave the Boston Celtics after just two seasons with the franchise. The 27-year-old point guard agreed to a four-year deal worth $141 million with the Nets.

Brooklyn eventually become one of the most intriguing teams in the league after also convincing Kevin Durant to sign a four-year contract worth $164 million. The Nets also added another veteran in DeAndre Jordan, who accepted a four-year, $40 million deal.
