Former NBA head coach Stan Van Gundy claims it's “no question” that the Brooklyn Nets' head coaching vacancy is better than the New York Knicks'.

The Nets and Kenny Atkinson parted ways just days before the NBA suspended the season due to the coronavirus. Van Gundy says the talent the Nets have on their roster will land them a good coach:

“Of the two, the Nets are the better job,” Van Gundy said on ESPN Radio, via Brian Lewis of The New York Post.

“There’s no question about that right now. The organization has been more stable. They’ve won more games. They have more talent.”

Brooklyn will have Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the floor together next season. Irving only played in 20 games in his first season with the Nets due to a shoulder injury which he eventually got surgery on. Durant, meanwhile, had always intended to miss the entire 2019-20 season due to his Achilles tear.

The Nets should be title contenders next season with Durant and Irving leading the way. Brooklyn has a nice supporting cast too, led by Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, DeAndre Jordan, Jarrett Allen and Joe Harris.

Harris, though, becomes an unrestricted free agent whenever the 2019-20 season ends. The Nets may have to overpay to keep the sharpshooter in Brooklyn since there are going to be other teams out there which will have interest in Harris.

The Knicks haven't had a winning record or made the playoffs since 2012-13. Mike Miller has done a decent job since replacing David Fizdale.

However, the Nets will surely get a better coach than the Knicks simply because of their roster.
