Kyrie Irving's NBA career has been rife with controversy at every corner. Even before coming to the Brooklyn Nets, the superstar guard has had some sort of drama with every team he's been a part of. His penchant for attracting issues at every turn is undeniable, and has turned off more than a few of his fans.

One of these fans is Stephen A. Smith, who seems tired of Kyrie Irving's antics at this point. Speaking on “First Take”, Smith outlined his reasons for calling the Nets star unreliable despite his on-court talents.

“The brother is spectacular. He's a superstar. He is not reliable. You can't trust him to show up to work, because some days he believes that work is beneath him. That's just the fact, and he has said so.”

Smith offered an interesting analogy that sums up the Nets star's career:

“You know when you can depend on Kyrie Irving? When you look at the loading dock area you see the bus pull up and you see him get off of it.”

Even the most dedicated of Irving critics cannot deny the man's talent. At his peak, the Nets star is one of the most talented scorers and ball-handlers of his generation. His ability to create his own shot has been always undeniable.

His on-court talent just makes his off-court issues all the more frustrating. From bailing on the Celtics after announcing “he's a Celtic for life” to refusing to get the vaccine and forcing the Nets to make him a “part-time player”, Irving's career has been tainted with controversies.
