Things are not so peachy these days for the Brooklyn Nets. It was recently revealed that James Harden isn't too pleased with the team and wants to test the waters in free agency in the offseason.

With Kevin Durant's extended absence due to an MCL injury and the still-unvaccinated Kyrie Irving only being a part-time player, the Nets' erstwhile bright outlook this season has been clouded with uncertainties.

It remains unclear why Harden isn't too happy with the Nets, but coach Steve Nash, in a report by ClutchPoints' Dave Early, posited that it could be because of COVID-19. As simple as that.

“Ever since the COVID return, it's been very average basketball. So, we have higher expectations and it's frustrating, but I think James is happy here for sure.”

The Nets were ravaged by the virus last month, leaving the team with a motley crew of mostly unheralded guys. Harden himself tested positive for COVID-19, hampering his early momentum. But recently, the former MVP has regained his form, carrying the cudgels for the Nets with Durant sidelined and Irving not regularly injecting a boost.

Harden, however, sat out the Nets' home game against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night with a sore hamstring. With their Big Three all out of commission, the Nets absorbed a 124-118 defeat to drop to 29-19.

The Nets will have a few days off before they embark on a five-game West Coast sojourn, starting with a matchup against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
