Injured Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie is expected to be out for the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign after partially tearing his ACL last December. However, some fans are optimistic that he might be able to reinforce the Nets at some point this season, judging by how well his rehab process has been going so far.

On Saturday, Nets head coach Steve Nash pleaded to fans to temper their expectations, since he did not want to put unnecessary pressure on the 27-year-old scorer.

Judging by Spencer Dinwiddie's Instagram videos, his road to recovery looks well ahead of schedule. After all, the 6-foot-5 combo guard has already recovered quickly from a full ACL injury before, so if anyone can do it, he's the guy.

While his potential return for the Nets this season would make for quite the comeback story, Steve Nash is just taking a realistic approach on the matter. As much Brooklyn could use his scoring prowess off the bench right now, it's not wise to risk re-aggravating his injury by rushing his recovery.

Dinwiddie only played in three games this season prior to his most recent setback. It was evident that he was still adjusting to his new role with the team, averaging just 6.7 points on 37.5 percent shooting from the field and 28.6 from downtown, along with 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists. His name was even linked to several trade rumors before the season-ending surgery.
