Some familiar faces are joining Steve Nash in Brooklyn as he prepares to take over as head coach of the Nets.

Former Phoenix Suns star and Nash teammate Amar'e Stoudemire will be joined by former Suns head coach Mike D'Antoni.

The Nets are also bringing in Ime Udoka, who had been regarded as one of the top head coaching candidates this offseason.

Nash issued a statement following the official revelation of his full staff:

“We've assembled an experienced staff of high-character individuals with varied backgrounds, both on and off the court, that will help create a solid foundation for me and our players,” Nash said, via Ian Begley of SNY.tv. “When I set out to build this staff, I wanted to put together a committed group that would connect with our players and help put them in the best position to succeed as a team. With coaching and playing experience at the highest level and a deep background in player development, I'm confident that we've put the right people in place to lead us forward.”

Will Nash and D'Antoni look to institute something of a “seven seconds or less” offensive system? That remains to be seen. Regardless, the Nets have indeed assembled quite the experienced staff.

All eyes will be on Nash in Brooklyn in his first year on the job. The Nets will be expected to contend for a championship with a healthy Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant back on the floor, and Nash could face his share of scrutiny if the team fails to meet expectations.

However, Nash will undoubtedly be comforted by the years of experience and wisdom on his staff.
