As expected, Kevin Durant and the rest of the Brooklyn Nets have officially qualified for the NBA Playoffs, but coach Steve Nash is not satisfied yet. In his first trip to the postseason as a tactician, it appears Nash is already gunning for that Larry O'Brien trophy.
Per Kristian Winfield of the NY Daily News, Nash bared his mindset after the Nets clinched a postseason ticket on Tuesday following their 116-103 win over the Toronto Raptors.

The Nets still have games left to play, but they hold the top spot in the Eastern Conference. And so the goal is to stay as the number one seed and get homecourt advantage by squeezing out more wins and hope that the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks will lose their remaining assignments.
The Nets have clinched playoff position and will finish no lower than 6th in the East this season.

As Nash noted, their eyes are locked on the bigger prize which is the elusive NBA title. Gauging the Nets' win-loss record amid all the injuries the players suffered throughout the season, Nash did a splendid job in his first year on the sidelines.
Some critics would probably say that the star trio of Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving did all the work and all Nash had to do was sit back and relax. But due to injuries, personal concerns, and COVID-19 restrictions, the Nets' Big Three has only played together for seven games.
And so Steve Nash should be commended for utilizing the best roster combination possible as well as making the necessary tweaks to squeeze out victories. With the NBA Playoffs just around the corner, and the Nets' are expected to be fully healthy to contend for the crown.
