The 2019-20 NBA season is fast approaching and former All-Star Carmelo Anthony is still without a team. Although he was recently seen working out with some players from the Brooklyn Nets, additional information has been released, which indicates that Melo is just hanging out with friends.

Despite not being able to find his way back into the NBA, Anthony has found ways to be productive this summer. He has worked out with several young players from other teams, and this recent news about him having scrimmages with the Nets could just be one of those times. Still, people are excited to see Melo back in the NBA next season.

Melo's reputation in the league has been severely damaged by reports that he does not want to accept any role from any team other than a starter. Although he recently cleared this up in his recent appearance on ESPN's First Take, where he said that he's open to playing off the bench, teams are still cautious about his attitude. Even Team USA, which he helped win three Olympic Gold medals, have decided against his inclusion in the FIBA World Cup training camp roster.

The latest rumors suggest that the Toronto Raptors are willing to offer Melo a short-term deal, although that hasn't gained any traction either.

Anthony continues to be patient about his situation. He already understands what he needs to do in order to get back to the NBA. He just needs a team, a franchise to trust him.

Maybe, just maybe, it's the Nets who'll give him a shot.
