DeAndre Jordan reportedly joined the chorus promoting the Brooklyn Nets over the New York Knicks to Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant before free agency started, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Jordan played for the Knicks to close out the 2018-19 season, so he knew first-hand how dysfunctional the franchise was. The high-flyer, who is very close friends with Irving and Durant, has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Nets as well.

The New York Times first reported last week that the Nets had also begun to heavily recruit the veteran center DeAndre Jordan, one of Durant’s closest friends, to form an incoming trio with Durant and Irving. Jordan spent the last two months of the 2018-19 season as a Knick, but two people briefed on the negotiations said Jordan also was convinced in recent days that Barclays Center would be a more hospitable backdrop for Durant and Irving than Madison Square Garden and joined the chorus promoting the Nets.

Many around the league thought the Knicks had the upper hand in the Durant sweepstakes because Jordan was on the team. However, New York opted not to play Jordan near the end of the 2018-19 season so they could play the young guys. That reportedly didn't sit well with DeAndre.

Even though Durant is expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season, the Nets are still going to be really fun to watch. Irving, Jordan, Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, Spencer Dinwiddie and Joe Harris will be able to take Brooklyn far in the Eastern Conference.
