In the past week, rumors of trade between the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers have become more and more relevant. Of course, the Sixers want to unload Ben Simmons in exchange for a top-tier player to complement their MVP candidate, Joel Embiid.

This is where James Harden comes into the picture. Much like Simmons' with the Sixers, he appeared to boycott playing in the Nets' last game before the trade deadline. The Nets fell to the Boston Celtics Tuesday night, adding a ninth straight loss to their 29-25 record.

Brian Windhorst joined Mike Greenberg on his ESPN show “#Greeny” on Wednesday. During his time on the show, the ESPN NBA writer implied that Harden quit on his team to force a trade with Philadelphia.

Bleacher Report editor Bryan Toporek posted a thread of tweets explaining Windhorst's perspective on the trade situation.

After linking the YouTube clip of Windhorst's appearance on the show, Toporek highlighted some important quotes from it.

“I can’t tell you how much James Harden wants this…but his actions over the past 10 days are basically a threat to the Nets.” Windhorst referred to Harden's lack of performance in the Nets' recent games.

He then connected the situation to when Harden wanted out of Houston.

Toporek finished the Twitter thread with a huge point from Windhorst: what happens if the Nets don't make a trade for Harden?

Is he going to sit out the rest of the season like Simmons is?
