Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant will reportedly look at the Brooklyn Nets just as hard as the New York Knicks this summer, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

The Nets will have cap space this offseason to sign both Irving and Durant. Irving grew up in New Jersey and his former general manager, David Griffin, said earlier in the season he thinks Kyrie would favor the Nets over the Knicks.

Nothing is set in stone, but it's believed Irving and Durant are going to be a package deal this summer. Most think that package deal will be with the Knicks, but maybe not:

The Nets made the playoffs this season and have a very bright future with GM Sean Marks and head coach Kenny Atkinson leading the franchise. The allure of playing in Madison Square Garden is pretty much the only thing the Knicks have over the Nets right now. The Knicks have been a walking disaster for years, and James Dolan is considered to be the worst owner in the NBA.

Brooklyn point guard D'Angelo Russell is a restricted free agent this summer. The Nets would let Russell walk if they sign Irving, who averaged 23.8 points and 6.9 assists this season with the Celtics.

This offseason is one of the most anticipated summer in a long time. Irving and Durant aren't the only star players entering free agency. Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler and Kemba Walker, among others, are free agents as well. The Nets are hoping to sign two star players and become a title contender in 2019-20.
