The Brooklyn Nets are no longer complete pushovers, and on Wednesday night, the Charlotte Hornets learned that firsthand after the Nets defeated them in double overtime.

The way Brooklyn won was incredible, too, as Rodion Kurucs swiped the ball away from Malik Monk, leading to a Joe Harris steal and bucket in the final seconds:

I actually think Kurucs deserves the most credit here, as that was a very good defensive play. His stance was perfect, and he got a hand on the ball without reaching in and getting called for the foul.

Great stuff.

With the win, the Nets improved to 17-19 on the year and have now won nine of their last 10 games.

Sure, the competition that Brooklyn has beaten during this current surge is not exactly great, but you can only beat who is on your schedule. It's not like the Nets were winning these kinds of games the last few years.

Spencer Dinwiddie led Brooklyn with 37 points and 11 assists in the victory over the Hornets.

Meanwhile, Charlotte's completely mediocre play continues.

The Hornets have been trading wins and losses all year, never winning or losing any more than three in a row. Hey, at least they are consistent, right?

With the loss to the Nets, Charlotte fell to 16-17 on the season.

The two teams will play again on Friday night, with the Hornets playing host this time around.

After the second meeting, Brooklyn will head over to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks, while Charlotte swings on by the nation's capital to battle the Washington Wizards.
