Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is the frontrunner for MVP and possibly Defensive Player of the Year as well, but that didn't deter Brooklyn Nets swingman Justin Anderson from taking Antetokounmpo on a voyage to the rim.

In the second quarter of Tuesday's matchup between the potential first-round foes, Anderson darted toward the lane and caught a pass from Tyler Johnson on a forceful curl cut. The 6-foot-6 Anderson then took two determined steps before unloading on the 6-foot-11 Antetokounmpo with a left-handed flush, sending the Nets bench into a frenzy. The 2018-19 MVP was a half-step slow to rotate, and he paid for it with a brand new poster:

Anderson has only been with the Nets since July 18, signed as a replacement player for the remainder of the 2019-20 season. He served a 10-day stint with the Nets in January and played 16 games with their G-League affiliate, the Long Island Nets. He played nine scoreless minutes in Brooklyn's loss to the Orlando Magic on Friday, then did not play in the team's win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday.

Clearly, he's making the most of his opportunity to play against the East's best team — making an impact on the box score as well as the rim. Anderson had 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting and three rebounds in 11 first-half minutes. The depleted Nets — who came in as 19-point(!) underdogs — surprisingly led the 54-win Bucks at halftime, 73-65.

Antetokounmpo had 16 points on 7-for-8 shooting at the break.

Brooklyn (31-35) entered play Tuesday trailing the Magic (32-35) by half a game for the seventh seed in the East.
