It has been a roller-coaster 2017-18 NBA season for Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie in terms of game-winners. It started nearly two weeks ago when he hit the go-ahead bucket versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.

It was then overshadowed by his atrocious layup attempt against the Toronto Raptors a few days ago. Fortunately, he managed to redeem himself with the game-winner versus the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.

Needless to say, the Nets have found themselves in a number of games that have gone to the wire. As a result, Dinwiddie has taken full advantage by establishing himself as the team's go-to scorer in the clutch. More importantly, he managed to bounce back from an abysmal performance versus the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday by recording 20 points and 10 assists. He even came one board shy of a triple-double with nine rebounds in the win over the Hawks.

Dinwiddie recently celebrated having his contract guaranteed by Brooklyn for the rest of the season. The decision came as little surprise considering the current state of the Nets backcourt. That said, Dinwiddie has brought some much-need stability to a floundering Brooklyn team with the injuries to point guards D'Angelo Russell and Jeremy Lin.

He has since kicked off the new year in spectacular fashion by averaging 17.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game in January. Furthermore, Spencer Dinwiddie has started to become ingrained into the very fabric of the team's rebuild moving forward. He has undoubtedly taken on a central role with the team as of late. However, it will be interesting to see how that dynamic changes once Russell returns.
