Once a mere plan for the season, the NBA schedule has now quickly become an integral part of how teams and fans view a season.

Back to backs, how often teams play away from home, how long they play away for etc. all are key talking pieces in the analytical justification for a team’s performance.

The correlation between days between games, games at home vs. away are all things that have come to light in recent NBA research.

The team over at Nylon Calculus have put together a graphical representation of how the type of games and where they are played should statistically disadvantage any given team.

Whilst no fortune teller, it should provide an insight into how teams match up when less rested than their opponent and may be an important justification for a win or a loss.

One thing to highlight is the Cavaliers featuring a league-high with 10 games at home a rest advantage up until New Years’ Day. Could be a quick preview into how the champs ‘should' jump out early this upcoming season.
