The New Orleans Saints are still vying for position atop the NFC standings as the 2020-21 NFL postseason continues to inch closer. With the surging Green Bay Packers currently holding onto the top seed in the NFC with only one team from each conference receiving a first-round bye this season, the 10-4 Saints now trail the heralded NFC North franchise by just one game in the standings.

Because the top spot in the NFC is still technically up for grabs despite the Saints fresh off of a surprising loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans must bring its A-game in Week 16 against the middling Minnesota Vikings.

1. Alvin Kamara will score multiple TDs in Week 16

With injured quarterback Drew Brees back in the mix for the NFC South franchise, that means that running back Alvin Kamara is more than likely due to seeing a pretty heavy workload against the Vikings. With Brees still getting acclimated against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15, it should be back to business as usual for the Saints against the Vikings this time around.

If the Saints are going to dominate on offense as this team is accustomed to doing, Kamara must have a big game both on the ground and via the passing attack. If Kamara can get things going for the Saints against the Vikings, the prolific running back should score multiple touchdowns in Week 16—whether it be on the ground or through the air.

2. Taysom Hill will score against the Vikings

In the absence of injured quarterback Drew Brees, the Saints wasted no time in turning to offensive weapon Taysom Hill under center. Because Brees is back as the team's starting signal-caller, Hill has resumed his role as a running back, tight end, wide receiver, and special teamer—Swiss Army knife for short.

Head coach Sean Payton has never been afraid to utilize the versatility of Hill and will no doubt go to the talented offensive weapon early and often come Week 16. If the Saints are clicking on all cylinders on offense, that typically means that Hill is involved in some sort of way. In a perfect world for New Orleans and the aforementioned Payton, Hill will find the end zone against the Vikings. Since Hill impacts the game in so many different ways, there is no telling exactly how he will score, though the odds of him getting in for six get higher and higher as the weeks go on.

3. Saints, Vikings score at least 7 combined TDs

The Saints sport one of the best defenses in all of football. However, the Saints also possess a top-notch offense and could find themselves in a shootout come Week 16 against the Vikings. Although the Vikings are hot and cold in terms of how effective and efficient the team's offense is, Minnesota can really score when it is on its game. With quarterback Kirk Cousins leading the way, flanked by Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook, the wide receiver tandem of Adam Thielen and rookie sensation Justin Jefferson are often game changes for Minnesota.

New Orleans will not have any problem scoring on Minnesota, though if the Vikings can actually get it going, there will be at least seven total touchdowns scored in this NFC clash.

4. Drew Brees won't turn the football over in Week 16

Only his second game back after fracturing more ribs than most people know humans even have in their bodies, longtime Saints quarterback and future Hall of Famer Drew Brees will be more than ready to take down the Vikings in Week 16.

After a loss to the lowly Philadelphia Eagles a week ago, Brees knows exactly how important a win would be for his team this time around as the veteran signal-caller will no doubt do everything in his power to get the job done. With Brees having Kamara at his disposal for rushing attempts, dump downs, and highly effective screens, the Saints passer will be able to keep things pretty simple despite also possessing the ability to air it out when necessary.

Because the Saints are in dire need of a victory and because Brees won't put the game in jeopardy with silly or unnecessary plays, there is a very slim chance that he turns the football over in Week 16 against the Vikings.
