After Amazon Game Studios learned about the game-breaking gold duplication glitch, they immediately took action to work on a fix. As of today, players can once again make trades in New World‘s Trading Posts.

New World’s in-game economy was slightly in a calamity thanks to the long-running gold dupe glitch. Amazon Game Studios decided to disable all forms of wealth transfers to prevent any further damage the glitch could make. The developers previously mentioned that this glitch will be difficult to fix which proves to be true. As of the moment, only New World Trading Posts are back but other forms of wealth transfers are still disabled.

Upon investigation, Amazon found out that the glitch had something to do with New World’s server transfer option. Players simply had to send their character’s gold to another character then immediately log out to trigger the glitch. After logging back in, the glitched character would still have gold in their inventory. This meant that the extra unaffected character holds the original and could easily send it back to the glitched character. Because of this situation, Amazon Game Studios immediately disabled server transfers as well.

According to the New World Forums, Amazon already found a solution for the gold dupe specifically in Trading Posts. As much as they want to re-enable every wealth transfer feature, it’s not as easy as it sounds. Gold is very important in New World which is why Amazon needed to re-open what’s already fixed. There isn’t any word yet on when the other features will re-open. Despite this challenging task, hopefully, it wouldn’t take too long to come up with these fixes.
