The New York Giants are officially back at work on a voluntary basis, meaning new toys are present to be played with. Once such toy is the heavy-hitter coming by way of NFL free agency, Super Bowl champion Nate Solder.

Of course, Solder's immediately been inserted as the starting left tackle for Eli Manning's blind side, but he's much more than simply that offensive edge. He's also a veteran who's been around the block. Hopefully, though he took the kid's job, he can help Ereck Flowers though this difficult time in his NFL career and it seems like he's taking this particular job head-on, via Kimberley Jones of the NFL Network.

Nate Solder to me on Ereck Flowers: “I have to praise him. I don’t know how I would have handled the situation…Being here, working hard, learning the plays, being around the guys, it’s showed a lot about his character, humility & his willingness to do whatever it takes.”

It's a sticky situation for all involved right now. Usually, jobs in this league are swiped all the time without any bump in the road, but as it pertains to the G-Men, the man who lost his job is feeling a bit down.

Though the entire living, breathing football world understands, Flowers made it clear he's “miffed” as to why the organization would bring in Solder to take his job. Despite his saltiness, he's at Jints voluntary workouts on Monday working with Solder and all of his teammates.

Flowers also started at right tackle on the first team with Solder. Perhaps the more run-heavy side will fit the former first-round selection who's struggled up to this point in his young NFL career.
