With the New York Jets Week 12 matchup being against the Houston Texans, we'll see which team is more deserving of potentially having the first pick overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. Neither team is likely to make the playoffs, but they'll want to prove themselves before the end of the season. We take a look at this Jets-Texans game with some of our Jets Week 12 predictions in mind.

New York's defense hasn't lived up to standards, but it's still somehow the strongest asset to this franchise. Regardless, the Jets are facing a weak Texans team who is coming off an unexpected win over the Tennessee Titans.

Offensively, New York has been hurting for consistent quarterback play. Even so, Elijah Moore has proven to be a reliable receiver, as he's been flashing superstar potential. Zach Wilson comes back and New York is hopeful he has learned from his mistakes. If the offense can get things together, they could walk away with a win on Sunday. With that said, here are four bold Jets Week 12 predictions for their game against the Texans.

Jets Week 12 Predictions

4. New York's defense stifles Houston's rushing attack

It's not like the Texans have a stellar rushing attack and they've dished away their two best running backs recently. Although that's true, Houston seems determined to become a run-first offense, which bodes well for the Jets' chances on Sunday.

The front seven is the strongest area for the Jets. Quinnen Williams is a monster on the interior defensive line and should have his way with the Texans. Look for New York to get aggressive and take away Houston's run game, as it'll be a key to victory.

3. Elijah Moore continues his hot streak with 125+ yard performance

Elijah Moore has been on a tear recently and looks to be the best receiver on the Jets. What's concerning though, is his breakout happened once Zach Wilson went down with an injury. Hopefully, Wilson learned a thing or two from Mike White and Joe Flacco, as both of them fed Moore the ball frequently. If that happens, Moore should be able to continue his hot streak.

2. Zach Wilson goes bonkers for 250+ passing yards and 3 touchdowns

After watching Mike White, Josh Johnson, and Joe Flacco play particularly well, Zach Wilson has to be feeling more confident about the Jets' offensive scheme. The offense isn't completely broken and he has the talent to be a legitimate starter for years to come. We'll see how it plays out, but Wilson could be in store for the best performance of his young career.

1. Jets defeat the Texans in a close game

The Jets and Texans are both desperate for a win. They each have a long journey before becoming relevant in the NFL again, but achieving a victory on Sunday will be a nice start. New York has a chance to defeat Houston on Sunday, as the Jets have some key prospects developing on the roster.

For that reason, the Jets should be able to walk away with the victory. If the defense can stop the Texans' rushing attack, that should keep Houston from running the clock. Additionally, it's time for New York's offense to become consistent. If Wilson can put it all together and get Elijah Moore involved, they'll have a great shot at winning on Sunday.
