Whenever people talk about who the New York Knicks‘ number one fan is, many would say it's Spike Lee. However, there's one family now who can rival his love for the team.

Troy Corley, a Long Island native, is a huge fan of the Knicks. He also claims that his grandfather and all his uncles were Knicks fans which made the team a huge part of their household conversations when he was growing up. When his youngest son was born, he couldn't let the chance of naming him after the team slip away.

Corley did not want to use a former or current player's but found a way to incorporate the team's name for his son. Together with his wife, they decided to name him “Nyko” which stands for “New York Knicks One.”

Recently, their family got a chance to watch their favorite team play live and meet Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick Rose who posed for some pictures and shook their hands as well.

It is definitely a dream come true for young Nyko to meet his basketball heroes and players who currently represent the team he was named after. Even if he admitted to be somewhat nervous when he first realized what his name meant, he'll definitely be proud of being named after one of the proudest and most storied franchises in NBA history.
