It's official. Neymar will be staying in the French capital for the distant future.

The Brazilian attacker signed a brand new deal with PSG on Saturday, which is set to keep him in Paris until the summer of 2025. The former Barcelona man will be paid approximately $36.5 million per season and if the Parisians can win the Champions League, a huge bonus could also be in the cards.

Since Mauricio Pochettino took over the reins just a few months ago, PSG has done quite well. Although they were knocked out of the UCL semifinals by Man City, the club has found themselves in the mix of things in Europe for the last two seasons, much in part to Neymar. They're also right on Lille's heels for the league title.

The 29-year-old made the move to the Ligue 1 giants in 2017 from Barca for a record fee of €222 million. Since, he's proven to be a key piece of their attack alongside Kylian Mbappe, bagging 13 goals and tallying six assists in 24 appearances this term.

Neymar has this to say about his contract:

“I’m very happy, very happy to be extending my contract with Paris until 2025,” Neymar said on PSG’s official website. “The truth is that I’m very happy to be staying here for four more years, to be a part of the club’s project, to try and win titles, to try and achieve our biggest dream which is the Champions League. So I’m happy to be staying at the club, to be a part of it and to be extending my contract.”

This signing could very well be a stepping stone to PSG keeping Mbappe as well. Contract talks have stalled with the Frenchman, while rumors have swirled about a move to Real Madrid.

But, with his strike partner around for the long haul, it may persuade one of the best youngsters in the world to stay in Paris.
