The NFC North was top-heavy during the 2019 season with the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings both making the playoffs. The Chicago Bears couldn't get consistent play out of Mitchell Trubisky which caused them to struggle, and Matthew Stafford's injury derailed any hope for the Lions.

Each team in the NFC North believes with a strong offseason they can get back to the playoffs. So what will each team do? Let's breakdown one bold prediction for each team.

4. Green Bay Packers trade for A.J. Green

The Green Bay Packers still have Davante Adams and Allen Lazard stepped up during the 2019 season, but after those two there are a lot of question marks. The Packers had high expectations for Marquez Valdes-Scantling but he struggled and they need an upgrade.

The Bengals have talked about wanting A.J. Green back, but even with Joe Burrow, they aren't going to be competitive next season. It would be smart for the Bengals to try and get some draft capital back fro him, and he would be a perfect target for Aaron Rodgers to throw too.

Rodgers is getting up in age, so the team needs to go all out to get him one more Super Bowl victory.

3. Vikings get a new franchise quarterback…in the draft

Kirk Cousins isn't the future of the Minnesota Vikings, and team is going to make sure to draft his replacement. The Vikings currently own the 25th pick and with the loaded quarterback class, they could select one there. They could also make a trade up to try and get a player like Tua Tagovailoa.

The Vikings could also wait until the second round and hope a guy like Jake Fromm is still available. The Vikings are going to zone in one guy and do everything in their power to get him.

2. Bears actually stick with Mitchell Trubisky

The Bears have said they have confidence going forward with Mitchell Trubisky, but teams can always change their mind. The team really couldn't say anything else in case they couldn't find someone else in the draft or free agency to bring in.

This time the Bears aren't actually running a smoke screen, they actually are going to move forward as Trubisky as the starting quarterback. They aren't going to bring in anyone this offseason like Cam Newton to give him competition.

The Bears might be making a mistake here, but after trading up to get him in the draft, they will stick by him.

1. Matthew Stafford Retires

All signs point towards Matthew Stafford being healthy for the 2020 season, but back injuries are nothing to mess around with. After his wife's battle with a tumor, and Stafford's back problems, it wouldn't be far-fetched to say he could decide it's time to hang up the cleats.

The team isn't good enough even with Stafford under center to compete for a Super Bowl, and with the money he has made, his health is most important. This is going to leave the Lions at a loss and will set their franchise back another five years.
