Prior to the 2018 NFL Draft, former UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen was long viewed as being one of the first few players off the board on Thursday night. However, Rosen slid a bit down to the 10th overall pick to where he was selected by the Arizona Cardinals after the pick was acquired in a trade with the Oakland Raiders.

Shortly after being draft, the 21-year-old stated during an interview with Fox Sports Radio that the other nine players taken ahead of him were all mistakes, according to Lindsay Jones of USA Today Sports.

Rosen has been vocal about his draft status leading up to Thursday stating that he was tired of the conversation surrounding where he will be taken in the first round. There had been no certainty where he would land aside from being one of the first quarterbacks off the board given his talent on the field.

However, his fall in the draft has landed him in a unique situation where he could quickly find success in Arizona where he will play alongside some proven players in All-Pro wide receiver and Pro Bowl running back David Johnson. The Cardinals already have put in place a veteran quarterback in Sam Bradford, who signed a one-year, $20 million deal in free agency earlier this offseason.

Rosen clearly has the motivation to prove the eight other teams that passed on him wrong when he gets his chance to play either in his rookie campaign or the 2019 season where he could take a clear-cut hold of the starting job with the Cardinals holding a team option for next year.

Among the quarterbacks in this year's class, Rosen was viewed as being the best pure passer that has the arm strength and accuracy to make every throw that would be required of him at the next level.
