Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is excited to have Jedrick Wills on the team. After the Browns selected Wills 10th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, Mayfield took to Twitter to voice his excitement with the selection.

Wills said right after the selection, Mayfield reached out to him to welcome him to the team.

“He hit me up as soon as I got drafted,’’ Wills said on a Zoom call via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “He shot me a text and gave me his info. Just let me know that he was going to be there for me and if I needed anything to reach out.’’

Wills said he is excited to play on the same team as Mayfield because he knows how important team success is to the former Oklahoma Sooners standout.

“He plays with great determination and I do the same exact thing,’’ said Wills. “I know he’s a great quarterback, somebody that’s driving to put a team in a great position to be like a championship team. With us together, I feel like it’s only going to make us better.’’

Last season the offensive line was an issue for the Browns. They made it a top priority to improve the offensive line this season, and they have done just that. In free agency, the Browns also brought in Jack Conklin.

All these moves put even more pressure on Mayfield. The Browns have surrounded him with all sorts of talent. And with the offensive line now better, it's going to come down to Mayfield taking a step forward to play his best football.
