The 2020-21 Alabama Crimson Tide were absolutely stacked, and perhaps so stacked, that many have already forgotten about standout wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. Because Waddle suffered a significant leg injury over the past season, fellow Alabama wideout DeVonta Smith, running back Najee Harris and quarterback Mac Jones were all able to move that much more into the limelight throughout the year.

However, at least one team didn't forget about Waddle's talent, as the Miami Dolphins selected him with the no. 6 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

With former LSU Tigers wideout Ja'Marr Chase, Waddle has now become the second wide receiver taken on Thursday evening.

The 22-year-old pass-catcher appeared in a mere six games for Alabama in what would become his final go-round down in Tuscaloosa. Even so, Waddle still managed to produce 28 receptions for 591 yards and four touchdowns. Producing a total of 106 career receptions for the famed SEC program alongside 17 receiving touchdowns, Waddle finished his Crimson Tide tenure literally one receiving yard shy of an even 2,000 in all.

Standing at 5-foot-10 while weighing around 185 pounds, Jaylen Waddle certainly has the proper skill set to become a more than viable NFL wide receiver as a rookie in 2021. If he can stay healthy moving forward, the sky will be the limit for him atop the highest level.

Tua Tagovailoa will be happy to have a familiar face in Miami as his old college teammate joins him, just one pick after Ja'Marr Chase and Joe Burrow found their way back together with the Cincinnati Bengals.
