One of the most electric pass-catchers in the country is finally off the board. The Atlanta Falcons have selected USC star wideout Drake London with the eighth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft on Thursday.

London was absolutely fantastic in 2021 for the Trojans, leading the nation in contested catches and finishing with 88 receptions for 1,084 receiving yards. That was more than both Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, the two WRs who are also considered the best prospects at the position in this NFL Draft class.

The USC stud didn't participate in the NFL combine due to a fractured ankle he sustained in October, but he's now at full strength and has been training with former NFLer T.J. Houshmandzadeh. There are some concerns about London's speed, but he proved this past season that he has the quickness and agility to succeed at the next level.

At 6 foot 5, London is truly the full package. Not only does he possess quickness, but he's physical. The 20-year-old has great hands as well. One of the first wideouts to go off the board in the NFL Draft, London's tools are surely going to help him succeed in the league and if there were any doubts about his athleticism, London even played basketball at USC before fully committing to football in 2020.

The Falcons bring in a fantastic athlete to help compliment Kyle Pitts. This team is well on its way to building the foundation for success down the road. If London can develop into the star Atlanta believes he can be, then this franchise is in a good spot moving forward. Congrats to Drake London and his family.
