Former LSU Tigers cornerback and 2019 NFL Draft prospect Greedy Williams was not shy about repeatedly stating that he was the best defensive back in this year's draft class. Now, Williams has officially been rewarded for possessing his unique skillset en route to being selected by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

With Williams now a member of the Browns, the former LSU standout will immediately get the chance to prove his worth upon matching up against the best wide receivers in the NFL.

“Long, athletic cornerback who is more smooth and fluid than twitchy and sudden in his coverage,” reads his 2019 NFL Draft profile on NFL.com. “Williams has the instincts and tools to play a variety of coverages, but his length and pattern-matching talent will likely get him drafted to handle press-man duties. His ball production dropped a little from 2017 and he continued to struggle with finding the ball downfield, but he is rarely ever out of position. He needs to get stronger and more competitive in run support, but he has the talent and traits to become a CB1.”

Because Williams played his collegiate football in the always competitive SEC, there is absolutely no doubt that the soon-to-be rookie cornerback will be able to step right in and hit the ground running in 2019. Although there is certainly still much to learn as the up-and-comer has yet to play a single snap at the professional level, Williams should quickly become one of the frontrunners for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
