Another Oklahoma quarterback has made a big impression, as Jalen Hurts was the fastest signal-caller at the 2020 NFL Draft combine.

Plenty of eyes were locked in Indianapolis as the next crop of potential NFL talent sold their abilities to coaches, scouts, and GMs in attendance. Hurts helped grow his stock by posting an impressive time on the 40-yard dash.

Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk reported that Jalen Hurts finished with an official time of 4.54 seconds, making him the fastest among the current crop of QBs. The next quickest official time was Oregon's Justin Herbert at 4.68.

It's important to note that there were faster times than his during the unofficial runs. Hawaii's Cole McDonald ran an impressive 4.54 while Colorado's Steven Montez was a hair faster than Jalen Hurts at 4.58. Moreover, players like Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovaiola didn't run the 40 for obvious reasons.

He's the second-fastest among the Oklahoma quarterbacks that entered the draft over the past three years. Baker Mayfield was the obvious slowpoke among the three with the 4.89 record he notched during his turn in 2018. Kyler Murray didn't do the 40-yard dash a single time, but that didn't affect his draft stock at all. An Oklahoma coach predicted that his time would have been around the 4.30 mark, though.

The impressive 40 time Jalen Hurts posted would do a lot of good for his draft stock. He didn't want to try out for any other positions, so having the fastest QB tag on him could do him a lot of favor. His draft stock is still all over the place, but this should boost his stock a little.
