It has been deemed a foregone conclusion that the Cincinnati Bengals will be taking LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with the top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Regardless, he is making it clear that he hopes to end up with a team that is vying for Super Bowl contention.

According to Andrew Perloff of the Dan Patrick Show, Burrow is prioritizing going to a playoff-caliber team as opposed to just the No. 1 pick.

“You want to go No. 1. But you also want to go to a great organization that is committed to winning. Committed to winning Super Bowls.”

It is certainly encouraging to see that Joe Burrow's primary concern going into the NFL is finding a way to win. Unfortunately, that may be much easier said than done considering the state of the teams that are currently in position to draft him.

For starters, the Bengals are coming off their fourth straight losing season after finishing the 2019 NFL season with a 2-14 record. Even when they have made the playoffs, they have not managed to do much with it after losing their last seven postseason games.

Of course, the Bengals are hardly the only team in the midst of a grueling rebuild that is interested in landing Joe Burrow. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner may not have the advantage of going to a franchise that is know for its winning ways. As a result, the Super Bowl expectations he is referring to may be something that he will have to bring with him to the NFL.
