Former Alabama Crimson Tide running back and 2019 NFL Draft prospect Josh Jacobs has officially made his way to the next level. Jacobs has become the latest Alabama alumnus to reach the NFL. The impressive collegiate running back has come off the board at No. 24 overall to the Oakland Raiders.

Following in the footsteps of Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry and former New Orleans Saints and current Baltimore Ravens running back Mark Ingram, just to name a few, Jacobs will attempt to give the Raiders an immediate boost in the offensive backfield.

“Prototypical combination of size and skill-set as an every-down runner with the ability to slash or impose his will on any given snap,” reads Jacobs' 2019 NFL Draft profile on NFL.com.

“Jacobs runs with good bend, vision and burst, and he proved to be an effective pass-catcher out of the backfield or from the slot. He will probe and burst, but he could become more elusive with better tempo as a runner. Jacobs is a decisive runner with outstanding one-cut talent to become a bellcow lead back.”

Although it is not a given that a player will get extended playing time under the direction of famed Alabama head coach Nick Saban, considering the level of talent at each position for the Crimson Tide, Jacobs proved he was more than ready to make the jump to the NFL in his final go-round in Tuscaloosa.

As a junior in 2018, Jacobs rushed for a single-season career-high 640 yards and 11 touchdowns on 120 carries.
