With the NFL Draft quickly approaching, teams across the league are finalizing their scouting searches among the incoming prospects. Matt Corral is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks available, but some are concerned about the ankle injury he sustained during the Sugar Bowl.

According to ESPN, Matt Corral “has ‘no regrets' about playing in the Sugar Bowl in January and that he is on track to be at full speed for his March 24 pro day on campus.” Due to the injury, Corral won't be throwing at the combine. It's not an ideal situation, but it is what's necessary with the NFL Draft right around the corner. The Ole Miss quarterback explains his thought process in playing the Sugar Bowl.

“They asked if I regretted it, and I said, ‘Absolutely not.' I never thought about opting out. … It was never a thought in my mind. I was going to play regardless.” – Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral.

Matt Corral was involved in the controversial topic of college players opting out of playing in bowl games. His ankle injury may have hindered his chances, but luckily, it sounds like the prospect quarterback will be fine by the time the NFL Draft kicks off. Corral explains where he's at physically as he prepares for his pro day.

“About two and a half weeks ago I started throwing and running. … I am throwing at 100% right now. I just started taking dropbacks about two and a half weeks ago. Before that I was just throwing from spots, not taking any dropbacks.” – Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral.

We'll see how it all plays out. Everyone is up in the air in regards to the incoming quarterback class. However, Matt Corral has the tools to be a legitimate starter. But he'll have to prove himself at the professional level. Keep a close eye on him as his stock will rise or fall as the 2022 NFL Draft approaches.
