According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com and NFL Network, Mississippi State defensive end Montez Sweat has a heart condition that could cause some teams to avoid selecting the up-and-comer in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Sweat, who recently impressed at the 2019 NFL Combine, is widely expected to come off the board sooner rather than later come late April.

Mississippi State defensive end Montez Sweat, who rose to the national spotlight with his performance at the Senior Bowl and on the field in Indianapolis at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, has medical news that may make some teams do an in-depth analysis. Multiple sources say that combine doctors took a thorough look at Sweat because of a pre-existing heart condition. This was not publicly known before Indy.

However, the pass rusher's representatives don't appear to be too worried about his NFL Draft stock:

“Because of privacy issues we are not allowed to comment specifically,” says Sweat's agent, via NFL.com. “But I will tell you that this is not news. Montez is the same person that was medically cleared to play and dominate the SEC, the Senior Bowl, and the NFL combine. No change in health and no change in domination!”

Although an NFL team will certainly draft Sweat next month, probably in the first round as well, teams will now be forced to do a little more due diligence when it comes to testing him ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft.
