There is uncertainty surrounding where Tua Tagovailoa will be selected in the 2020 NFL Draft due to his injury concerns. In the event that Tagovailoa falls in the draft, Nick Saban issued a warning to teams that pass on him.

“The sky’s the limit,” Saban said of Tagovailoa’s NFL future, via Andrew Beaton of the Wall Street Journal. “I don’t think any of the questions with Tua have to do with his ability to throw the ball and be effective.”

Before Saban became the head coach at Alabama and guided Tua Tagovailoa, he had a forgettable stint in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins. During his time in Miami, Saban and the Dolphins had a chance to sign Drew Brees in free agency.

However, Brees was coming off of a serious injury and Miami was concerned with signing him. While the Dolphins passed on Brees, the New Orleans Saints took a chance on him.

Fast forward to now and Brees remains with the Saints and delivered them a Super Bowl back in 2009. It's safe to say that Saban and the Dolphins made a massive mistake on not signing Brees. As a matter of fact, Saban would leave Miami just a season after the debacle involving Brees.

As for Tua Tagovailoa, he is recovering from a hip injury that he suffered in his final season at Alabama. Besides his hip injury, Tagovailoa has also dealt with other injuries in his collegiate career.

Still, Tua Tagovailoa is a talented quarterback that has the skill set to become a franchise quarterback in the NFL.

Despite the injury concerns, Saban knows firsthand that teams will regret passing on Tua Tagovailoa if he falls in the draft on Thursday.
